‘Maina’ — A Musical Tribute to Beauty

In the heart of Udalguri, two emerging rappers—DOrxON and Oporadhi—have come together for their first mixed single, ‘Maina’, a soulful track that artistically celebrates the beauty of a girl. The title ‘Maina’ itself is an affectionate term used in Assamese to adore a girl, adding an authentic cultural touch to the music.

The journey of bringing ‘Maina’ to life was as vibrant as the song itself. The lip sync portions featuring the rappers were filmed at Gauhati University, where the crew stayed and shared meals at the AT 7 boys hostel. The camaraderie and university atmosphere added raw energy to the shoot.

It was during the Diwali of 2020 when the crew traveled to Udalguri Town to capture the magnetic presence of Sumanta Sutradhar, who featured in the video. Her scenes were wrapped up in a single day, with a special night shoot held at Tom Scissors. Sumanta's talent, warmth, and enthusiasm truly became the heart of the music video, embodying the essence of ‘Maina’.

The production was a collaborative effort of many creative minds. The vocals, lyrics, and composition were handled by DOrxON and Oporadhi, while the music, mix, and mastering were done by HiroNYa, alongside additional mixing and mastering by Erakdau Boro. The track was recorded at Daohang Music Studio in Harisinga.

Visually, the music video was crafted with care: Jitul Das took charge of cinematography, and Chintu Aryan Nick worked on editing and color grading, as well as directing the video under the banner of pyroZ Production. Supporting roles, from photography by Rishab Bayan to costumes coordinated by Nitish Das (Humpty) and Parag Kalita, added depth and detail to the final product.
