The Blissed Integration

ABOUT THIS ARTICLE
Sometime in the summer of 2019, we shot a podcast that still holds a special place in my heart. It was at Uzan Bazar Park in Guwahati—a calm, breezy afternoon—and we sat down with an emerging all-girl band called The Blissed Integration. What started as a casual conversation slowly unfolded into a beautiful reflection on childhood, nostalgia, music, and the story behind their debut single Futukala.
Behind the Music & Video
Futukala was written and composed by the band members themselves, with music arranged by Arnab Basishtha. Instrumentals were provided by Rupam Sarmah (guitar/ukulele), Jugal Nath (bass), Raja Boruah (tabla/percussion), and Manoj Baruah (violin), while Pinku Das handled the mixing and mastering.
The video was shot by Ranjan Borah and Anirban Sarmah, with aerials by Pinkal Das and editing by Uddipta Kumar Bhattacharyya. KD Saikia added illustrations, and Prodip Kumar Handique worked on subtitles. Special thanks to their families and the people of Lengeri Changmai Gaon for their support.

The band consists Mahasweta Goswami, Parineeta Goswami, Pratiksha Gogoi, and Rengani Handique. “Let music integrate hearts” is the motto of the band.
We spent time talking about their upcoming single Futukala, diving into the inspiration behind it, the creative process, and the people who helped shape the song. The energy was raw, honest, and refreshingly grounded. It was clear they weren’t just making music, they were reviving memories.
They told me Futukala is named after the seed of the futuka plant, something many of us remember from childhood. Known as ফুটুকলা in Assamese, it resembles the taste of kola jamuk (black plum) and leaves a stain, just like those memories that never quite fade away. The song is their way of going back in time, playing hide and seek, eating futukala, and being kids again.
Behind the Scenes
The podcast shoot was a fun-filled experience, full of laughter and light-hearted moments. We wrapped up the session with a quick rapid-fire round that brought out the personal quirks of each band member, followed by a live mashup performance that was truly soulful. While I had the opportunity to host the podcast, the real magic wouldn't have been possible without the dedicated crew behind the camera.
Rishab Bayan led the visual direction as the chief camera person. Jitul Das supported as the second camera operator, while Pranjal Das managed the third camera setup. Capturing all the behind-the-scenes moments was Ratan Oskar, whose presence added to the ease and flow of the production.
