ABOUT THIS ARTICLE

On June 21st, 2025, the tranquil expanse of Bodofa UN Brahma Memorial Park in Udalguri Town, BTR, Assam, came alive with rhythm, melody, and an undeniable spirit of togetherness. Organized by Melody Waves and supported by Tribal Lens and MB Sounds, this year’s World Music Day celebration was more than just a concert, it was a full-bodied experience of culture, creativity, and connection.

A Line-Up That Lit Up the Evening

The event brought together some of the most exciting names in the local music scene, setting the perfect tone for an evening of live performances and communal joy. The line-up featured:

Zarang, Young Xception, Swrjithai Daffodils, and Eternals.

The Highlight: The Himalaya Project

But the true soul of the evening came through “The Himalaya Project” the highlight performance that was not only a musical act but a journey. With sweeping compositions inspired by nature, heritage, and spiritual resilience, the act captured the essence of what World Music Day stands for: the universality of sound, the diversity of its origins, and the emotional resonance it carries.

Over 1000 Hearts, One Rhythm

With over 1000 attendees, the atmosphere buzzed with energy. People of all ages, friends, families, musicians, and travellers, gathered to celebrate music in its purest form: outdoors, under open skies, in the lap of nature.

It wasn’t just a music event. It was a community gathering, a celebration of identity and rhythm, a moment where everyone moved to the same beat.

ZEN Café, Grasslands, and a Pond with a View

Apart from the music, the event had one of the most serene and picturesque venues.

ZEN Café, a beautifully set-up restaurant within the park, served up delicious meals and drinks to refuel and refresh tired feet and happy hearts.

The open grasslands provided the perfect place to sprawl out, lay down, or sway to the sound of the music with bare feet on earth.

And then, there was the pond—a quiet, reflective space near the bridge that became a favourite photo and pause spot for many. It added a poetic calmness to the otherwise electric energy of the performances.

A Day to Remember

World Music Day 2025 in Udalguri was not just another music event, it was a testament to the power of local creativity, the dedication of passionate organizers, and the ability of music to transcend boundaries. With nature, music, food, and community coming together in harmony, the day was a reminder of why we celebrate music, not just to listen, but to feel, to connect, and to live.

Here's to more melodies under the sky. Until next year, keep the music playing.
